Prayer is needed

Pastor Terry Stauffer and his wife Juanita and their family suffered a terrible loss late Saturday afternoon in the tragic death of their 14 year old daughter Emily Joy. Please take this family to His throne. May He provide comfort and the peace now and in the difficult days to come.

I have copied the following from Terry’s web site.

It Is Not Death to Die
It is not death to die
To leave this weary road
And join the saints who dwell on high
Who’ve found their home with God

It is not death to close
The eyes long dimmed by tears
And wake in joy before Your throne
Delivered from our fears

O Jesus, conquering the grave
Your precious blood has power to save
Those who trust in You
Will in Your mercy find
That it is not death to die

It is not death to fling
Aside this earthly dust
And rise with strong and noble wing
To live among the just

It is not death to hear
The key unlock the door
That sets us free from mortal years
To praise You evermore

O Jesus, conquering the grave
Your precious blood has power to save
Those who trust in You
Will in Your mercy find
That it is not death to die

  1. You know, I saw this on the news and thought she looked familiar. And the name jogged something for me…Not sure why, exactly… but I think it’s because I’ve been to her mom’s blog. Thanks for bringing it to my attention.

  2. Hi Kendall,
Emily Joy’s Mom hasn’t posted in a while, but her Dad Terry spoke at one of the Fellowship Baptist conferences in Saskatoon last year. Murray has met with him. So the name may ring a bell from there. They are all well connected with the Fellowship Baptist group.
Or perhaps the Lord is just calling all the Saints to pray for this family. I know they have been on my heart constantly all week. I didn’t recognize the name, but felt compelled to pray for them at house group – and that is when Murray asked if it was a Fellowship Baptist family.
